| About: |
| Webley & Scott is another British arms manufacturer. They were founded in 1834 and began by making bullet molds and then moved into sporting guns. They then branched out into handguns and long guns. . In 1853 the Longspur was introduced. A muzzle-loaded percussion cap and ball pistol, it was considered to the best revolver at the time as it fired as fast as Colt revolvers and had the added benefit of being faster to load. Webley & Scott supplied the British Empire's military with revolvers and automatic pistols from 1887 until well after World War II. This production continued until 1979 when they ceased manufacturing firearms and began production of air pistols and air rifles. They have recently begun production of shotguns again. |
