Sauer & Sohn was founded 1751 and continues to be the oldest firearms manufacturer in Germany. Production began in Suh, Thuringia before moving 200 years later to Eckenforde. The company has produced handguns, long arms, pistols, rifles and shotguns. The 38H was the first mass produced semiautomatic pistol to feature a cocking/ decocking lever. They currently offer rifles and handguns. The company specializes in bolt-action and semiautomatic hunting rifles. 2009 saw the production of guns being moved to Isny in Southern Germany. They currently offer the Sterling Over/Under shotgun line and the Meisterwerkflinte side-by-side shotgun. Both are quality, precision shotguns enjoyed by sportsmen and hunters around the globe.
