| About: |
| BSA, known as the Birmingham Small Arms Company, was founded in 1861. As the gun trade declined they branched into producing bicycles and even motorcycles. During World War I, the demand for firearms compelled them to begin producing rifles, Lewis guns and shells to help with the war effort. After the war they ceased gun production, but in the 1930's once again began producing guns. By World War II they were in the position to provide the government with Lee-Enfield rifles, Sten sub machine guns and Browning machine guns. In 1986 the Gun making division of BSA was sold and renamed BSA Guns (UK) Ltd. They are still in business offering air rifles and shotguns. |
